The theater of our lives moves from one setting to another, one act begets the next and it passes with incomprehensibly, never earning that much needed hesitation, to reflect on the meaning of what you just experienced. During the Covid lockdown I was a good little girl nestled at home with my dog and my biggest sin, was the long walks as far from my house as was possible, such as the Berlin wall, in order to pump up a bit of adventure in my soul. Then once the lockdown was lifted, something funny happened. Literally funny. The one form of “performance” which popped out all over Berlin was comedy and storytelling. Out of the blue dozens of offers of comedy night-outs were part of the Berlin scene. I got somehow mixed up in the social circle of the Berlin comedians which consisted not necessarily of long time Berlin professional comedians, but also international floaters, hang-arounders, souls from around the world urgently wanting to be on stage making people laugh. Slowly I am getting to know their stories, their styles, their “specialties”. Its been a journey. Though I have always been merely passively a fan of comedy, I am enjoying this comedy phase of my life, post Covid, because of the underlying people I am getting to know. Some of the people I got to know include: Tammy Ingram, Moni Ni, Tyrone and my absolute favorite Naniso. And, yes I saw them all at the Badehaus – my favorite venue when the sun is still smiling down on Berlin!
